Scientific projects

I am a biologist (MSc, University of Göttingen, Germany) and landscape ecologist (PhD, University of Oldenburg, Germany) with a focus on functional traits, biogeomorphology and landscape planning.
I am interested in the prediction and understanding of species response to abiotic factors and changes in landscape use as well as the generation and evaluation of scenarios for nature conservation. Linking these fields of research requires to scale up relationships between ecosystem processes and species responses from the patch scale – focus of most empirical studies – to the landscape scale – focus of planning and management issues.

I am currently working as the local manager of the Schwäbische Alb exploratory.
