Scientific projects

I am an evolutionary ecologist studying host-pathogen interactions and the dynamics and evolution of diseases, using primarily insect models. I combine field work, experimental infections and large sequencing analyses in my research.

My current projects are (i) the effect of ecological, evolutionary and genetic drivers on disease transmission; (ii) the study of viral diversity in insect pollinators and (iii) the evolution of insect immunity (DFG funded project within the priority program GEvol “Genomic Basis of Evolutionary Innovations”: ImmuNov).
