Research
Anita Marchfelder and her group are interested in analysing the RNA metabolism of halophilic archaea. Research currently focusses on five major projects (see list below). You will find details about these projects by clicking on the respective links:
- CRISPR-Cas functions beyond the defence - SPP2141
- Archaea
- The prokaryotic immune system CRISPR-Cas
- Small regulatory RNAs
- Ribonucleases
- Small proteins in Archaea
Stefan Binder and his team investigate the pathway of amino acid metabolism in plants and the genes and enzymes involved. A related topic of current research is the biosynthesis of glucosinolates, which is also of high agricultural potential. The analysis of gene expression in plant mitochondria concentrates on posttranscriptional processes like 5’ maturation of RNAs in different Arabidopsis thaliana ecotypes.
