On Friday, May 21st, we received the good news that our CRC1279 is one of 27 CRCs that have been extended. Starting July 1, 2021, the DFG will support our CRC for four more years with a total of approximately 12 million euros. This highlights the importance of our concept, underlines the relevance of our interdisciplinary approach, and rewards our successful work of the past four years. As a speaker, I would like to thank everyone who contributed for their continuous commitment and research achievements. Special thanks to Kristina Wohllaib and Dre van der Merwe for their support in preparing the extension application under difficult circumstances. I wish everybody an early return to more normal conditions with joint meetings, lively discussions, even more cooperative studies and - of course - further exciting scientific discoveries.
