Conceptual methods in exploratory search and information visualisation
In this presentation the possible usage of FCA-based methods in
exploratory search and interactive visualization of query results data
and clusters of documents will be introduced. The main goal is to find
new interesting approaches to exploratory information retrieval. FCA
(Formal Concept Analysis) is known as a conceptual data mining method
with the graphical output in form of concept lattices (type of concept
hierarchies in conceptual methods), which are here analysed for its
possibility to be used in standard or hybrid approaches for retrieval
and exploration tasks. Also, we would like to introduce studied topics
and some interesting EU projects from our department, which are related
to knowledge-based technologies, data analysis and information retrieval.
