PhD student receives Dissertation Award

Congratulations to Dr. med. Michael Schmeißer who has won the 2011 Dissertation Award from the Ulm University Association (UUG - Ulmer Universitätsgesellschaft e.V.) for his outstanding medical thesis.

He was recognized for his dissertation titled “Der LAPSER1/beta-Catenin Komplex, ein direkter Weg von der Synapse zum Zellkern“. The award was presented by University president Prof. Karl Joachim Ebeling and chairman of the UUG Dr. Hans Hengartner at the celebration of the 44th Anniversary of Ulm University on July 15.

Michael Schmeißer is PhD student of the International PhD Programme in Molecular Medicine Ulm since 2009 and successfully participated in the Study Programme Experimental Medicine. He is working at the Institute of Anatomy and Cell Biology under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Tobias Böckers.
