The main objectives of this talk are:
- Position and contextualize the business process flexibility topic (briefly)
- Introduce the IBM Business Process Manager platform, as one of the "commercially available products" to support the business process automation in a process-aware information system context
- How to implement some interesting flexibility patterns on the IBM BPM platform, in alignment with theoretical models and leveraging the flexibility enablers provided by the product
- Describe a real project context with some specific flexibility requirements and how these requirements were addresses in IBM BPM
Short biography
Carlo Randone (degree in Computer Science at the University of Turin, Italy) is a Certified IBM IT Architect and Open Group Master Certified IT Architect in IBM Global Business Services, Italy. Carlo has a deep knowledge of different development platforms and middleware on heterogeneous environments and operating systems. Before joining IBM in 2000, he worked for several years as a Certified Trainer and Solution Developer for a Microsoft Certified Partner.
Since joining IBM, Carlo's main job interests are related to Service Oriented Architecture, BPM, and their related software engineering methodologies and enabling platforms, and Enterprise Architecture planning and design. In particular, he is frequently responsible for the design of complex BPM-based systems for medium and large customers.
He enjoys collecting documentation and hardware pieces related to the historical development of IT, and to support this hobby he is a member of the Charles Babbage Institute.
