The top act for Ulm University's graduation ceremony has long been a well-kept secret. Now we can reveal: The band Leoniden will be performing on Friday, 19 July at the "Schwör mal!" party on Münsterplatz! The opening party starts at 19:00 directly after Ulm University's first ever graduation ceremony, where we will bid farewell to our graduates. The public is cordially invited.
They have just played Southside and will soon be giving a concert on Münsterplatz: The Leoniden are headlining the Schwörwochenende Opening Party "Schwör mal!". The indie rock band from Kiel made it to number 1 in the official German album charts in 2021 with their album "Complex Happenings Reduced to a Simple Design". With the new single "Never Never", the quintet announces its fourth album "Sophisticated Sad Songs", which will be released in August. Anyone who has seen the Leoniden live even once will remember them for a long time, because live moments have been at the centre of the band's DNA from the very beginning. In addition to the band from Kiel, the German band Blumengarten will also be playing and the DJ duo Link the Beat & Caro Line will be spinning.
Before the opening party, the first ever joint, cross-faculty academic graduation ceremony of Ulm University will also take place on Münsterplatz. From 16:00, the graduates of 2023 and 2024 will be celebrated and bid farewell in style: by Baden-Württemberg's Minister of Science Petra Olschowski, Ulm's Lord Mayor Martin Ansbacher and University President Professor Michael Weber.
Tickets are 12.50 euros, entitle the holder to attend both parts of the event and are available here.
