What courses does Ulm University offer? What are the application and admission requirements? What are the career and job opportunities later on? Before graduating from high school, students face many decisions. The Study Information Day 2024 on Wednesday, 20 November (9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.), offers high school students the opportunity to get to know the University of Ulm as a place to study, to get a taste of the lecture hall air and to clarify all questions about their studies - also online.
The students will be welcomed by the Vice President for Teaching, Professor Olga Pollatos (9:00 a.m., Lecture Hall 4/5). In subject-specific introductions, the academic advisors will present the various degree programmes at the university, provide insights into the subject matter and provide information about the opportunities after graduation (10:00 – 12:45 and 13:15 – 14:00, various lecture halls). At the "Experience Science" programme item, young people can get to know laboratories, carry out experiments or take part in guided tours (11:00 – 11:45 and from 14:15, some with registration at the faculty stand). Among others, the Molecular Medicine degree programme is offering "Pippetieren und Mikroskopieren" (pippeting and microscopy) and the Physics programme is inviting visitors to "Quantenphysik erleben" (experience quantum physics).
At the info market, students can find out more for themselves and ask questions at various stands in the university forum. Representatives from all degree programmes will be present, along with the Central Student Advisory Service, the Studierendenwerk, the scholarship programmes, the employment agency and others.
In the accompanying programme (12:15 – 1:00 p.m. and 2:15 – 3:00 p.m., various lecture halls), individual degree programmes and university institutions will also be presented: Graduates of economics talk about their careers, the Central Student Advisory Service answers questions about admission and selection procedures, and the Department of Humanities presents its offers for additional qualifications for students, including language courses, presentation techniques or rhetoric seminars. The Studierendenwerk Ulm advises on housing and finances and the employment agency helps with information on "bridging options after graduating from high school".
