Further information

  • The certificate of a bachelor's degree with examination results in Chemistry and Management or another programme with largely equivalent contents obtained at a German or foreign higher education institution, or a qualification which is recognised as equivalent at the level of at least three years study
  • A bachelor's degree with an average grade of 3.0 or better

            or if you have not yet completed your degree:

  • study achievements and examination results with a minimum of 134 credit points and an average grade of 3.0 or better

When submitting your application via the campus portal of Ulm University, you must upload the following documents:

  • data view (protocol of the online application)
  • bachelor's degree certificate and bachelor’s certificate stating the final grade as well as a transcript of records with credit points / Diploma Supplement if available
  • no degree obtained yet: transcript of records including overall average grade and total credit points (ECTS-points) earned to date
  • form requesting subject-specific additional information (pdf)
  • if bachelor's degree was not in German: proof of required German language proficiency
  • for applicants with a degree from China, India or Vietnam: APS certificate or APS confirmation
  • for applicants with a foreign degree: grading system of the higher education institution indicating the minimum grade required for passing the bachelor's degree as well as the highest grade possible. If this information is not shown in the transcript of records or the degree certificate, it must be provided separately in an official document or letter
  • certified translations of documents that were not issued in German/English
  • change of name: documentary proof

  • Proof does not need authentication
  • Applications with missing details or documents will be rejected
  • We do not accept applications and supporting documents sent on paper, fax or e-mail.
  • Candidates who reapply must resubmit the complete documentation
  • If you are unable to apply to Ulm University and carry out the application procedure yourself, it is possible to give someone the power of attorney to apply and provide information.

Upon completing the online application you will receive a confirmation email with your access details for the application portal, where you can find details on the status of your application and other notifications.

Admission will be granted when the following prerequisites are fulfilled:

  • Compliance with the form and deadline of your application
  • Fulfilment of entrance requirements
  • Proof of equivalence regarding the subject-matter of your study qualification (decision of the admissions committee)

If you hold a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and Management from Ulm University, an application is not required. You can go to the Studiensekretariat (student administration and examinations office) instead and fill out an 'application for change of programme' (Antrag auf Studiengangwechsel) as soon as you graduate, given that your grades meet the requirements as stated in the admission statute (final grade at least 3.0 or grade of the bachelor's thesis at least 3.0).
