Step 1: Registration in the campus portal of Ulm University
You register online in the campus portal.
After self-registration, you will receive an e-mail with the activation code and a request to confirm your personal account in the campus portal of Ulm University.

Step 2: Application in the campus portal of Ulm University
You submit your application in the campus portal and upload the required documents.

Register for the uni-assist online portal, answer all the basic questions and questions for your course application.

Step 2: Upload documents
Please upload the required application documents at the uni-assist online portal. Give your documents an unambiguous name.

Step 3: Submit your application to uni-assist electronically
(Paper-based documents are not required for application)

Step 4: Pay the handling fees to uni-assist

All required application documents as well as the payment must be received by uni-assist before the application deadline.

Further information

  • Bachelor's degree or at least equivalent degree from a university, a university of applied sciences, a cooperative university or a recognised foreign higher education institution or in a degree programme in chemistry, applied chemistry, chemical engineering, materials science, energy science with a natural science focus, physical sciences or a subject-related or subject-specific programme at the level of at least three years of study

               with examination results evidenced by

          a) an academic final examination with a bachelor's degree with an overall grade of 2.7 or better

               or if no degree has yet been awarded

          b) by the examination results achieved up to the application deadline with an average grade of 2.7 or better

  • Study and exam achievements from laboratory courses in chemistry or comparable experiment-based modules in chemistry corresponding to at least 8 ECTS credits, from modules in mathematics corresponding to at least 8 ECTS credits and from modules in physics corresponding to at least 8 ECTS credits,
  • the ability to conduct independent scientific work, demonstrated in particular by a thesis or comparable achievement corresponding to 9 ECTS credits,
  • a written one-page report (in German or English) in which personal and subject-related reasons for applying for the chosen study programme are stated and the choice of programme (letter of motivation) is explained.
  • English language skills at level B2 CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages).

 

The information in the Master of Science Energy Science and Technology admission statutes is legally binding.

When submitting your application you must upload the following documents:

  • Bachelor's degree diploma (certificate) with final grade as well as overview of subjects and grades /transcript of records with credit points/Diploma Supplement (if available)
  • If you have not yet completed your higher education degree: overview of subjects and grades/transcript of records issued by the higher education institution with the total credit points earned up to the application deadline and an indication of the provisional average grade
  • Motivation letter - maximum one page
  • Study-related, tabular curriculum vitae - maximum two pages - with (if available) corresponding proof of employment (e.g., job references)
  • Form for the subject-specific additional information - explanatory notes
  • Proof of English language proficiency at level B2 CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages)
  • In the case of a higher education degree from China, India or Vietnam: APS certificate or APS confirmation.
  • In the case of a foreign higher education degree: grading scale of the degree programme with indication of the lowest passing grade and maximum grade for the degree, to be shown on the bachelor's degree diploma/bachelor's degree certificate or on an official document of the higher education institution
  • If proof and documents to be submitted are not written in German or English, additionally an official translation into German or English is required
  • For applicants who do not come from an EU country or the European Economic Area and have a German higher education entrance qualification (“Abitur”): proof of higher education entrance qualification

Please note:

  • It is not necessary to certify the supporting documents
  • When submitting the application, all required supporting documents must be uploaded. Subsequent submission is not possible.
  • Application documents in paper form, as a fax or by e-mail will not be accepted.
  • A document issued in another name must be supplemented by documentary evidence of the change of name.
  • Further supporting documents may be required for your application.

You will be admitted if you meet the following requirements:

  • Compliance with application form and period as well as completeness of documents
  • Compliance with formal entrance requirements (undergraduate programme, entrance grade, proof of English proficiency, study courses)
  • Proof of equivalence regarding the subject-matter of your study qualification (decision of the admissions committee)
