Summer semester:

15 Feb - 15 March (restricted admission)
15 Feb - 31 March (unrestricted admission)

Winter semester:

1 June - 15 July (restricted admission) with late submission until 1 Sept
1 June - 30 Sept (unrestricted admission)

This is how you apply:
 

Step 1: Registration in the campus portal of Ulm University
You register online in the campus portal.
After self-registration, you will receive an e-mail with the activation code and a request to confirm your personal account in the campus portal of Ulm University.

Step 2: Application in the campus portal of Ulm University
You submit your application in the campus portal and upload the required documents.

  • Bachelor’s degree certificate and bachelor’s examination certificate as well as diploma supplement if available
  • Proof of previous study and examination achievements/transcript of records with details of the ECTS or credit points, as well as a description of the modules completed
  • Current certificate of enrolment with details of the degree programme
  • Letter of admission of the higher education institution
  • Proof of the required language proficiency
    Programmes taught in German
    Programmes taught in English
  • Applicants changing university in programmes with restricted admission: Proof regarding social criteria (severely disabled ID card, certificate of residence together with spouse/child, detailed explanation) if applicable
  • In case of a higher education degree from China, Vietnam or India APS certificate or APS confirmation.
  • In case of a foreign degree: Grading scale of the higher education institution
  • For certificates not issued in German or English: additional official translation

  • Authentication of the documents is not required.
  • All required supporting documents must be uploaded when submitting the application.
  • Application documents in paper form, by fax or by e-mail will not be accepted.
  • A document issued in a different name must be supplemented by documentary evidence of the change of name.
  • Further evidence may be required when submitting your application.

     

Places in master's programmes with restricted admission are allocated according to applicant groups in the following order

  • Waitlist successors
    Applicants with admission to the first semester of the degree programme applied for at Ulm University
     
  • Applicants changing university or interrupting their studies
    Applicants who have/had final full admission to the degree programme for which they are applying at a German university or another higher education institution in a member state of the European Union
     
  • Lateral entrants
    Other applicants

Within the applicant groups, places are ranked according to study and examination achievements. Only in the case of applicants who change university or interrupt their studies will 50% of the places be allocated on the basis of study and examination results (ranking list), otherwise according to social criteria.
