Application periods:

Online applications for Master’s programmes with restricted admission

are open as follows (cut-off period):
winter semester 1 June to 15 July *
summer semester 1 Dec. to 15 January *

* For applications for the winter semester, proof of academic achievements can be submitted belatedly by 1 September but only if the applicant has not received it by the end of the application period; for the summer semester,  the deadline for belated submission is 1 March.

Further Information

Upon completion of your online application and within the application period, you must upload the following documents using your personal upload assistant: (you will receive the link to your upload assistant once you have completed your online application)

  • Data view (protocol of the online application)
  • Bachelor's certificate/transcript of records with the final grade of the bachelor's degree and the received workload
  • Proof of study achievements/transcript of records of master’s programme (indicating ECTS) and a description of the completed modules
  • Current certificate of enrolment indicating study programme
  • Proof of an adequate command of English accordingly to the admissions statutes of the requested master's programme
  • In the case of a higher education degree from China, Vietnam or India: APS certificate or APS confirmation.
  • For applicants with a degree from abroad: grading system of the study abroad indicating the minimum grade required for passing the bachelor's degree as well as the highest grade possible. If this information is not given in the degree certificate/transcript, it must be provided separately on an official document or letter
  • Additional official translation of the documents into English or German, if the originals are not in English or German

  • Proof does not need authentication
  • Applications with missing details or documents will be rejected
  • We do not accept applications and supporting documents sent on paper
  • Candidates who reapply must resubmit the complete documentation; it is not possible to refer to documents on file at Ulm University

Free places in the master’s programmes with restricted admission are granted to applicants submitting proof of study periods and having skills and knowledge adequate for the semester they are applying for.   

The selection procedure for higher semesters in a programme considers the number of study and exam achievements and achievements under § 35 LHG; in case of equal ranks, the average grade of the first professional degree decides or, alternatively, lots are drawn.
