What is uni-assist?
Uni-assist is an "employment and service centre for international student applications". It examines and evaluates applications for admission from foreign applicants (except EU nationals, EEA nationals, foreign nationals with a German university entrance qualification) for the first semester (in the programme) in study programmes leading to a Bachelor's degree or State examination degree.

What is the application deadline?
Winter semester 23 May - 15 July

All documents must be submitted online to uni-assist in Berlin by 15 July at the latest. We recommend that you upload your documents approx. six weeks before the deadlines mentioned so that there is still time for any queries.

How do you apply to uni-assist?
Uni-assist offers an online application procedure.

What do you need to enclose with the application?

  • The certificate that authorises you to study in your home country
  • Coursework, certificates, grade overviews or transcripts of records of your previous studies at a foreign university
  • Proof of German language proficiency
  • For Medicine additionally the TestAS
  • Original APS certificate for applicants from China, India or Vietnam

    All documents must be translated by authorised translators in Germany or abroad. This does not apply to English-taught documents. Incomplete applications will not be processed. For detailed information see www.uni-assist.de.

 
What are the application and processing costs?

  • An application to uni-assist costs € 75.00 for the first degree programme and € 30.00 for each additional degree programme.


What happens after the application?

  • If you fulfil the formal requirements for an application, uni-assist will forward your documents to us. You will then receive information from Ulm University on how to proceed.
  • If you do not fulfil the formal requirements, you will be informed accordingly by uni-assist.

 

General information on the application procedure
The application deadline is a cut-off date for all study/degree programmes. Late or incomplete applications can therefore not be considered. The University is not obliged to investigate the facts of the application ex officio if documents are missing or incomplete. This also applies in the event that the University still has other documents from another application procedure.
