Protein structure determination by cryo-EM
Together with our collaborator, Nikolaus Grigorrieff at Janelia Farm (U.S.A.), we have established electron cryo microscopy as a method to study the structure of amyloid fibrils. At Ulm University we have now set up a JEOL JEM 1400 and a JEM 2100 electron microscope that is equipped with a DE12 direct electron detector.
