The award was given to Monika for her outstanding work on the tRNA methyl-transferase 2A (TRMT2A). Her work established the project in our lab, was the basis for a BMBF-funded project together with Dr. Aaron Voigt, and set the stage for a high-throughput screen to identify inhibitors of TRMT2A.
