- Postdoc Position in Quantum Theory of Levitated Nanoparticles at Ulm University
We are seeking a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute for Complex Quantum Systems, Ulm University. The candidate will work with the research team of Prof. Benjamin Stickler on developing theories to describe and control the quantum dynamics of levitated particles, with a particular focus on quantum sensing of forces and torques. Mentoring of MSc and PhD students is possible and encouraged. We offer a welcoming and collaborative environment and encourage researchers of all backgrounds to apply. The project will be in close collaboration with experiments by Dr. Maxime Debiossac at DLR QT Ulm. Initial employment will be for two years.
We are looking for candidates who
- enjoy working creatively with a strong focus on analytical methods and in close collaboration with experiments.
- hold a PhD in theoretical physics, preferably with a quantum optics or quantum nanomechanics background.
- have a strong interest in physical concepts and their utilization.
