Laser and Optics
Laser
For the operation of the experiments of our institute, different laser systems with different parameters are available. Depending on the requirements, e.g. wavelength, bandwidth, power, polarization, pulse length, etc. and their corresponding stabilities play a role. To cover the required parameter range we currently use among others:
- Nd:YAG-Laser (pulsed and CW)
- Dye-Laser
- Titan-Saphir Laser (pulsed and CW)
- Diode-Laser
- CO2-Laser
Optics
In order to realize the various experiments, a large number of optical and mechanical elements are required. These are supplied by different companies and range from simple optics to "state of the art" components that are only manufactured by a few or a single company worldwide. Among others, the following are used:
- Electric and accumulator optical modulators
- Various optical fibers
- High-NA objectives and lenses
- Beam splitters
- Spectral filters
Detectors
For the analysis of different quantum emitters or optical systems, a variety of different detectors is required. Depending on the demands, for example, the following are used:
- Superconducting nanowire detectors
- High resolution spectrometers
- (Avalanche) photodiodes
- Ultrafast diodes
- CCD cameras
