The goal of the research unit <link en nawi dfg-research-unit-for-1376-theory-meets-experiment home.html internal-link-new-window> FOR 1376  "Elementary reaction steps in electrocatalysis: Theory meets experiment" that has been established by the German Science Foundation (DFG) in August 2011 is the elucidation of elementary steps in electrocatalysis. The novel approach of the research unit is that theory and experiment collaborate on an equal footing and define research projects together.

In the framework of the research unit there will be an international workshop from October 28 to October 31, 2012, at the Castle Reisensburg near Günzburg. Topics of the workshop are electrocatalysis, but also photoelectrocatalysis and batteries/solid state electrochemistry. The goal of the workshop is an intensive exchange about elementary processes in electrochemistry. This workshop is also supported by the "Ulmer Universitätsgesellschaft" (UUG).
