In recent years, we worked closely in a trilateral joint project together with BASF SE and the Technical University of Munich on additively manufactured, miniaturized and scalable packings for distillation columns at laboratory scale. Numerous publications resulted from this collaboration and the results were extremely promising. For this reason, BASF has decided to continue the collaboration in a follow-up project. The aim is to further improve the properties of the packing and to gain a deeper understanding of how packing structure, fluid dynamics and separation performance are interrelated.
