Medicine as a minor subject for Computer Science graduates
Dear students,
The aim of this lecture is to provide an insight into biometric methods in Medicine research. This includes knowledge of the main types of studies, an overview of the most important regulations and principles of planning, conducting, evaluating and interpreting epidemiological and clinical studies.
The latter parts of the lecture deepen the aspect of statistical evaluation of data and explain descriptive statistics, the principle of a statistical test and methods of inductive statistics. In this context, probability theory is dealt with.
In addition to the theory, the lecture provides an insight into the freely available statistical software R, the use of which is learnt and promoted as part of the practical exercises.
