Welcome to the Institute of Epidemiology and Medical Biometry

Since December 2010, the Institutes of Epidemiology and Biometry have been merged under a joint Institute of Epidemiology and Medical Biometry (headed by Prof. Dr Dietrich Rothenbacher). This means that the expertise for the planning, implementation and analysis of population-based, clinical-epidemiological studies and registries as well as clinical, randomised studies is now under one roof.

The Institute conducts independent research projects on epidemiological and biometric issues and is involved in many national and international projects. Its central task is research and teaching. It offers a central point of contact, is a contact person beyond the University and is open to co-operation with non-university institutions.
