The course covers specialist and methodological skills at the interface between economics and computer science, and also places great emphasis on practical projects and collaborations with well-known companies in the region. The closing date for applications is July 15.
The digital world is becoming increasingly complex, and large amounts of data have long been part of everyday life in business and society – and they are becoming larger and larger. Digital technologies for data processing, such as artificial intelligence, are key factors for sustainable economic growth. Companies need experts who can shape the digital transformation at the interface between specialist and IT departments, develop suitable methods and apply them. The content of the new Master's programme in Management Information Systems – Digital Business & Analytics at the University of Ulm is optimally tailored for this need.
The programme is very practice-oriented: for example, it is about understanding how artificial intelligence works and how it can be used sensibly in companies, how to make data-based decisions and which digital business models are promising. "In the new Management Information Systems programme, we are training individuals who can shape the digital transformation and the use of key technologies such as artificial intelligence in business and society," says Professor Steffen Zimmermann, Head of the Institute for Business Analytics at Ulm University. Thanks to exclusive practical projects, students can make important career connections early on. "Well-known companies – from small start-ups to global players – partner with Ulm University. This intense practical focus enables students to deepen their knowledge of modern methods and instruments from Management Information Systems using real-life examples," says Professor Zimmermann.
Graduates of the Master's programme in Management Information Systems can work as business analysts or data scientists, for example, or in management consulting or IT project management. The admission requirement for the Master's programme is a Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems, Business Administration/Economics, Computer Science, Business Mathematics, Business Physics, Business Chemistry, Computational Science and Engineering, Media Informatics, Software Engineering or a comparable degree programme.
