First study section (semesters 1-4)
In the first semesters, you will gain a comprehensive insight into working in dentistry. In three introductory courses, you will learn first practical skills (e.g. fabrication of dentures).
- Internship professional field exploration
- Preparatory course in preventive dentistry
- Preparatory course in dental technologies
In addition, the dental education leans heavily on the human medicine degree programme, as you participate in most lectures and practical courses of both disciplines together.
- Fundamentals of science: biology, chemistry, physics
- Fundamentals of medical theory: anatomy, biochemistry, physiology
Second study section (semesters 5 and 6)
The second study section serves to prepare students for practical dental work. You will undergo intensive practical training in the four dental disciplines
- Dental conservation and periodontology
- Dental prosthodontics
- Oral and maxillofacial surgery
- Dentofacial orthopedics and orthodontics
Education takes place in our state-of-the-art dental simulation clinic and associated laboratories.
Third study section (semesters 7-10)
Partially interdisciplinary clinical courses are the focus of the last study section. You will work with and on patients under close supervision. Furthermore, comprehensive medical basics are taught in the following subjects, among others: internal medicine, materials science, microbiology and hygiene, pathology, dermatology and allergology, emergency medicine, pharmacology, ear, nose and throat medicine.
