M. Sc. Madeleine Held
Madeleine Held studied Molecular Medicine at the University of Tübingen (2017–2021), including two semesters abroad at Stony Brook University, USA. As part of her bachelor's thesis, she focused on investigating Pax splice variants in the embryonic chicken model. She then completed her master’s degree in Molecular Medicine at the University of Tübingen (2021–2023). Her master’s thesis centered on establishing a cell culture model for chemotherapy-resistant childhood liver cancers.
During her time as a research associate at the Hertie Institute for Clinical Brain Research (Prof. Dr. Lerche, 2023–2024), she obtained the FELASA-B certification. Since January 2025, she has been pursuing her PhD in the Department of Clinical and Biological Psychology at the University of Ulm. Her research focuses on the biopsychological causes and effects of endometriosis. In her work, she investigates the interplay of psychological factors, nutrition, microbiome, estrobolome, oxidative stress, and nutrient status to comprehensively characterize and analyze these factors.
