Julian Karlbauer, M Sc.

Julian Karlbauer joined the HCI group as a student assistant in 2018 and has been working as a research associate and PhD student since April 2024. He completed research-oriented industry placements at TriCAT GmbH and in the Production Lab of Audi AG, where he focused on augmented reality and deep learning technologies. During his master's studies, he spent a semester abroad in the master's program for Artificial Intelligence at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) in Trondheim, Norway. There, he worked in the "Computational Creativity" research group on deep learning models for music generation. He completed his master's thesis in cooperation with Siemens AG in the field of Digital Twin & Augmented Reality for industrial metal 3D printing.
