Title: Enhancing the User Experiences of Managing Security and Privacy
Abstract:
The proliferation of technology in all facets of everyday life presents us with a number of tradeoffs to achieve the appropriate balance between the benefits and conveniences of technology and the security and privacy risks they pose to users and organizations. This talk will illustrate how approaches from Human Computer Interaction (HCI) can help understand security and privacy as sociotechnical issues and create user experiences for managing security and privacy that can empower users to align system operation with their expectations and practices regarding security and privacy.
