In June 2018, Michael Haug will retire.
Mr Haug served as a technician since the beginnings of the insitute. He competently took care of the it infrastructure, as well as the full range of electronic devices and components to tinker with or to borrow indispensable for grown and young researchers in media informatics. As lord of the keys he provided access to labs and meeting rooms to students and guest. He also took care to lock all rooms in the evening once the racy researchers had left. In addition, he volunteered for all jobs and posts that an instute wants to or has to have. He never tried to attract much interest to his person, but was always present with his helpful and friendly way to handle something in silence which would have been neglected otherwise.
