Set on a mountain overlooking Uniontown, this elegant, seasonal resort built in 1907 is 11 miles from Ohiopyle State Park and 15 miles from architect Frank Lloyd Wright’s iconic building Fallingwater.
There's a refined restaurant, a bar featuring a counter made from pennies, and a veranda with panoramic mountain and city views. Other amenities include a 9-hole golf course, indoor and outdoor pools, a gym and hiking trails, as well as billiards, a game room and massage services (fee). Parking is complimentary.

Reservations can be made by calling the Summit Inn directly during regular business hours (9:00am-5:00pm EST) while the Inn is closed for the winter. Reservations can be made 24 hours a day when the hotel opens on April 21, 2017. Guests should mention the Carnegie Mellon room block when calling.

Rates are as follows and are based on single or double occupancy with breakfast included for up to two guests per room. Rates are valid until May 5 or until that room type is sold out. Rates do not include applicable taxes.

The Summit Inn is a historic hotel and, therefore, does not have an elevator. There are a limited number of lobby level rooms. Special requests for those who cannot negotiate stairs should be made at the time of booking.
All public areas and guestrooms are non-smoking. Guests who smoke in non-smoking areas will be charged for damages and assessed a cleaning fee.
You should be aware that the Summit Inn is on the top of a mountain and accessible by one two-lane road. If you choose not to stay at the Summit Inn, you must have a car and the nearest accommodation in Uniontown PA is about 30 minutes by car from the venue. We strongly suggest that you stay at the Summit Inn.

The closest airport to the Summit Inn is the Pittsburgh International airport (PIT). There is international non-stop service from Toronto, Canada; Paris, France; Frankfurt, Germany; and Reykjavik, Iceland and non-stop service to Pittsburgh from most major US cities. The web site for the airport is www.flypittsburgh.com. Travel time driving from the Pittsburgh airport to the Summit Inn is approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes.

There is no public transportation to the Summit Inn.
Shuttle: IWSDS will offer limited shuttle service from the Pittsburgh International airport to the Summit Inn on Tuesday, June 6 and from the Summit Inn to the airport on Friday, June 9. If you are interested in the shuttle, be sure to add that item to your cart during registration; organizers will contact you for your flight details. Shuttle fees are included with your registration.
Rental Cars: If you prefer more flexibility and independence, it is suggested that you rent a car. There are many car rental agencies at the Pittsburgh airport.
