The Transfer Centre for Digitalisation, Analytics and Data Science Ulm (DASU) hosted the new Lord Mayor of Ulm, Martin Ansbacher, on 17 September 2024. As a co-founder of DASU, the city of Ulm plays an important role for DASU. It was therefore a particular pleasure to be able to present the DASU's concept, objectives and projects to Mr Ansbacher. The exchange was characterised by opportunities for cooperation and the sustainable establishment of DASU in the Ulm region.
About the DASU
The Transfer Centre for Digitalisation, Analytics & Data Science Ulm (DASU) was founded in 2021 by Ulm University, Ulm University of Applied Sciences (THU), the Ulm Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK) and the city of Ulm as a non-profit foundation. The mission: to strengthen the transfer of knowledge between science and companies throughout the region and to pool and reuse resources. The DASU Board of Directors cosists of Prof.. Dr Manfred Reichert (Ulm University; Chairman), Prof. Dr Reinhold von Schwerin (Ulm University of Applied Sciences) and Prof. Dr Karsten Urban (Ulm University). Managing Director is Sandra Zimmermann.
The DASU is a multidisciplinary organisation. The disciplines represented include Computer Science, Mathematics / Statistics, Medicine, Economics and Engineering, as well as Human Factors, Human-Technology Interaction, Digital Law and Industrial Psychology. The foundation's basic assets were donated by the Ulm Chamber of Industry and Commerce and the city of Ulm. The foundation companies from the region include ABM, Boehringer Ingelheim Pharma, carbyte, Hensoldt Sensors, Kreissparkasse Biberach, Liebherr Digital Development Centre, RAM Stiftung Ulm, Rentschler Biopharma, Sparkasse Ulm, SWU Stadtwerke Ulm/Neu-Ulm, and Wieland-Werke.
