Mandred Reichert succeeded Opens internal link in current windowProf. Dr. Peter Dadam, who had been leading the institute since 1990 and became an emeritus as from 30 September 2014, in office.

Personal details

Prof. Dr. Manfred Reichert is a home-grown scientist of the University of Ulm.  He studied Industrial Mathematics on the Eselsberg, where the university is located, and graduated with a doctorate in Computer Science (“Dynamic Changes in Workflow Management Systems”) From 2004 to 2007 he had a 3-years stay abroad as Associate Professor at the University of Twente in the Netherlands. In 2008, Manfred Reichert became a full professor at his alma mater, the University of Ulm. During the last years, he has done well known research on next generation process management methods, concepts and technologies. Together with Prof. Dadam he developed the globally leading adaptive process management technology  „ADEPT“ and successfully transferred it to industrial practice. Reichert is one of the worldwide leading experts in business process management and one of the most frequently cited scientists in this area.

In March 2013, Manfred Reichert received an offer for a full professorship and chair from the University of Bonn in combination with a top management function at the Fraunhofer Institute of Intelligent Analysis and Information Systems (IAIS). However, Ulm University was able to convince him to stay in Ulm in order to become the new research director of the institute.
