Martin Theobald acts as the “Finance Chair” of the ACM-SIGMOD 2016 conference which is going to take place in San Francisco on June 2016. SIGMOD is one of the key venues for both research and industry in the area of “Databases and Information Systems”. Together with the SIGMOD General Chairs Georgia Koutrika (HP) and Fatma Öczan (IBM), Martin Theobald thus takes over an important duty in the organization of this event.
