As local organizer of the BPM'09 conference, which will take place from September 7-10, 2009 at the University of Ulm, the DBIS institute succeeded in gaining two headliners as keynote speakers: A.-W. Scheer and J. Hoogland.
Prof. Dr. August-Wilhelm Scheer, founder and chairman of the supervisory Board of IDS Scheer AG and imc AG was director of the Institute for Information Systems (IWi) at Saarland University from 1975 until 2005. His research activities focus on information and business process management in industry, the services sector and in public administration. His publications, translated into 8 languages, have gained worldwide attention. In 2003, he received the Philip Morris Research award and was named Entrepreneur of the Year. From 2006 to 2008, he was member of the council for innovation and growth of the Federal Government. Professor Scheer is member of the senate of the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft, president of the German Federal Association for Information Economy, Telecommunications, and New Media (BITKOM) and vice president of the Bundesverband der Deutschen Industrie e.v. (BDI). - In his keynote Prof. Scheer will talk about "BPM 3.0".
John Hoogland (LL.M.) founded Pallas Athena in 1993 with the vision to help organizations improve their business performance and efficiency. Pallas Athena is one of the fast growing global BPM companies, making a difference to the business performance and efficiency of more than 2000 companies every day. John’s role is about translating innovative ideas to usable BPMS for enterprise wide use. He was the first to introduce Case Management concepts in the BPM market and the first to embed Process Mining technology in the BPM life cycle. His track record made him gain recognition from leading analysts in the international BPM community. - In his keynote, John will talk about 'Change in Control'.
