DBIS uulm provides you with information on latest news, talks & presentations, publications, projects, and lecture courses of the DBIS institute. DBIS is worldwide one of the leading departments in the field of Business Process Management technology and has a comprehensive offer of lecture courses to all important topics around business processes and data management (e.g., Business Process Management, Service Oriented Architecures, and Database Management).
The DBIS department is equally working in research and teaching. Concerning the content of our lecture courses we distinguish two main fields:
„Databases & Information Systems“ and „Business Process Management“
We offer lecture courses to both topics in the bachelor’s as well as master’s degree studies. Likewise worth mentioning is that we regularly offer basic bachelor courses of the Practical Computer Science.
Our research addresses advanced issues related to databases and information systems. Focus is on the service-oriented design and implementation of robust, process-aware information systems. In particular, we target at next generation process management technology, which will allow for a high degree of process as well as service flexibility and which will enable full process lifecycle support. Also worthy of note is that we regularly publish our research results in international conferences and journals. Parts of these results, in turn, are used in selected lecture courses of the master studies.
