The Institute of Databases and Information Systems (DBIS) has deliberately enhanced its social media presence for the last few months. On the one hand side, information from and about DBIS (e.g., research results, software prototypes, news) is to be distributed faster and purposefully. On the other hand side, the efforts spent should enable an increased on-topic communication among anyone interested. Therefore, appropriate accounts have been put in place on established social media platforms.
Based on a Twitter account, DBIS news (e.g., emerging research results in the area of Business Process Management) can be received on every device in a timely and short manner. A new DBIS page on Facebook allows the institute to intensify the contact with its students, to share visual impressions of interesting events and to facilitate further interactions. Groups on XING and linkedin (social networks for professionals) are first of all designed to welcome alumni, friends and all graduates who want to stay in contact with DBIS staff. Finally, DBIS also created a channel on the video platform vimeo to share great multimedia content. Have a look, there are already some nice screencasts on educational and research prototypes!
In general, DBIS warmly invites you to support this initiative and to have a look on its various social media presences. You may also send feedback to Nicolas Mundbrod.
