The research groups of Prof. Glimm and Prof. Minker were awarded a Google Faculty Research Award of $95,500 for their joint project proposal Mungo (Multi-User indoor Navigation using natural spoken dialoG and self-learning Ontologies). With the highly competitive awards Google recognizes and supports world-class faculty in pursuing cutting-edge research that will shape the future use of technology. The project Mungo aims at giving users intelligent advice for indoor navigation making use of the improved technical solutions for indoor localization. Required semantically enriched position data are collected playfully in a dialog with users and used in future navigation recommendations by the system.
