General Information
The current General Study and Examination Regulations recommend two examination periods for written examination dates (§20 (1)):
1. examination period: last week of lectures + three following weeks
2. examination period: 3 weeks before the start of lectures + 1st week of lectures
Oral examinations are organised between examiner and exminee in terms of location and time period (§ 21(2)).
All examinations are reported to the Student Administration and Examinations Office via the degree programme coordinators (for Computer Science: Dr Jens Kohlmeyer). It is not possible for lecturers/examiners to register examinations directly with the Student Administration and Examinations Office.
Examination Planning in the Department of Computer Science Runs in Three Phases:
The compulsory interdisciplinary examinations for semester N are organised centrally in semester N-1.
The subject-internal compulsory examinations for semester N are organised by the Computer Science Study Commission before the start of semester N.
With the exception of (pro)seminars and projects, all other examinations in Computer Science are organised by the lecturers themselves in consultation with the students.
A special regulation applies to all seminars: students of FSPO 2021 and FSPO 2022 must register for a seminar in the campus management system in good time (see information pages on seminar registration). To ensure that this can be done early enough, the study coordinators report all current seminars directly to the Student Administration and Examinations Office. The examinations for projects are also reported directly to the Student Administration and Examinations Office by the study coordinator.
The examination planning system (in German: Prüfungsplanungssystem, short PPS) is available for examination planning. You can register using your SGI (Service Group Informatics) account. If you cannot access the PPS with your SGI account, please contact SGI.
The examinations from phases 1 and 2 are already added in the PPS.
For all examinations in the winter term 2024/2025, the missing information for the examination and, if applicable, the repeat examination must be entered online in the PPS by the lecturers by 22 November 2024.
The examination dates are set by the lecturers in consultation with the participanting students. The roo- time-reservations are made by the lecturers via the central room allocation system. Information on exam places/seating plans in classrooms can be found here.
If an exam is missing in the PPS, please contact Dr Jens Kohlmeyer.
Once the registration phase has been completed, the examinations are reported centrally to the Student Administration and Examinations Office and the examinations are created there in the campus management system. Students can then register for the examinations.
