Employing Student Assistants - Information for Supervisors
General Information
Applications for student assistants (in German: Hilfkräfte, short: HK) to support teaching are submitted to the Study Commission Computer Science (German: SK Informatik) for semester N in semester N-1 when planning courses (see also the Course Planning webpage).
The Study Commission Computer Science decides on the applications in semester N-1 and allocates student assistant positions for each course.
Advertising the Positions in the Student Assistant Job Platform (in German: Hiwibörse)
The student assistant job platform is used as the central system for the application and recruitment process in the Department of Computer Science.
Supervisors automatically receive employee accounts (if not: please contact Jens Kohlmeyer) and can add their ‘job offer(s)’. A job offer corresponds to a course with assigned student assisatnt positions. In this job offer, the number of positions as allocated to the course is advertised. When creating a job offer, always select ‘SK Informatik (SK)’ for the student assistant to be paid by the study commission; only then will the process be sent to Ms Wainczyk.
For positions paid for by the study commission, an editorial principle applies: The job advertisement is initially not visible, only after the study coordinator has cheked that the offer corresponds to the course list and the assigned number of positions, the offer is released.
Application of Candidates via the Student Assistant Job Platform
Future student assistants must (officially) apply for the job offers by 14 June 2024 at the latest. Each application process (3-stage interaction between supervisor and applicant: application, acceptance by supervisor, final acceptance by applicant) must be completed by this date at the latest, so that the application process is handed over to Ms Wainczyk (the official hiring process starts).
Please inform your future student assistants accordingly. Information for applicants can be found on the page Employment in the Study Commission Computer Science.
