Charge and energy transfer through molecular contacts in structured environments
Charge transport across molecule-metal contacts is currently in the focus of extensive theoretical and experimental research. Recent experimental designs allow the study of a multitude of phenomena stemming from the interactions between charge carriers and molecular phonons. In this project we want to study how to tune and optimize the electronic transport through single molecules coupled to metal electrodes by using a suitable structured environment. We will also study energy transport and thermal conductivity across these contacts.
