“Experimental models and clinical translation in leukemia”

In June 2024, SFB 1074 will reach its maximum funding period of 12 years. We would like to thank everybody involved in SFB 1074 for a tremendous effort making this research consortium a great success!
Currently, preparations are underway for a new research initiative in the field of hematology. We consider such an initiative key for the sustainability of this research focus which has been one of the pillars of Ulm University since its foundation. This is reflected among others by many research groups focusing on important aspects of leukemia biology using various model systems, by the successful development of personalized medicines for leukemia, as well as exquisite translational programs taking advantage of some of the largest biobanks in this area.
To foster such a new research consortium and bridge the time for its realization, we wish to call for new projects that fit into the scientific scope of hematology / leukemia / lymphoma / hematopoietic stem cell research. In particular, we are addressing young investigators who have the potential to become future DFG project leaders.
Projects will be funded for one year with the option to extend for a second year. Maximum funding budget will be 50.000 EUR per year. Based on the limited funds still available, only very few projects can be funded.
Projects will be selected by the SFB 1074 Board based on their scientific excellence and their potential to forward and strengthen a new research consortium. 
Ulm University and SFB 1074 aim to increase the proportion of women and therefore we encourage qualified female scientists to submit their proposals.
