Information for EU projects
With the current Horizon 2020 research framework program, the European Union has introduced an "Open Research Data Pilot", which is intended to enable better subsequent use of research data. This essentially involves two components:
Data Management Plan
The EU requires the project consortium to address data management issues at an early stage: at the time of application in a loose form, then at the latest 6 months after the start of the project in the form of a "data management plan".

Open Access for research data
In addition, the research data should be published freely accessible to everyone, if possible. The European Commission follows the motto "as open as possible, as closed as necessary".
