The Network Time Protocol (NTP) is used to synchronise the time of a computer with other computers or with an external clock via the Internet. The primary NTP servers are synchronised as accurately as possible to Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) via external timers.
The service provides two redundant time servers to synchronise the time on PCs, servers and other devices that support the NTP.

- Use of the time servers also from outside the campus network
