Virus Protection
Service-Category: Information Security
Our service includes the provision of an anti-virus software package for Windows, Linux, and Mac users, the maintenance of a virus scanner on our central email server, and support in the cut-off process of infected devices.
Service description
- For devices used in university business (Windows, Linux, and Mac) we provide the virus protection software G-Data Endpoint Protection Business as a download.
- All emails going through the university mail server are scanned for viruses. Infected emails are rejected by the server.
- We continuously monitor the campus' network and main servers in respect of attacks or other similar behaviour of infected devices. In case of an identification of a malicious source within the network we immediately take measures: The IP address of the infected device is blocked to limit damages to the subnet. In order to rehabilitate the device, the user must apply to the kiz through an online form in which the user guarantees the execution of measures to secure the health of the device. Should the malicious source be outside of the campus network, a blockage is ensured through a reconfiguration of the firewall.
User groups
The provided virus protection software may be used on university devices or devices used in university business ONLY. All other services are provided for every department and its members, as well as every other user within the campus network.
