BüroCloud (office cloud)
Service-Kategorie: Desktop Computing
The BüroCloud provides ZUV employees with individual virtualized working environments in which they can work from any location using any client.
Originally intended to improve the home office, the BüroCloud is now intended to give ZUV employees the opportunity to work more flexibly in general. The VMs replace the previous, fixed desktop workstations (PCs). With a few exceptions, the software available on the VMs is identical to that of the respective PC.
In addition, the BüroCloud is intended to reduce the workload of kiz employees by simplifying administration and maintenance.
Access to the BüroCloud must be protected, i.e. either from within the ZUV network or via a secure connection such as VPN.
The BüroCloud is currently still under construction and is constantly being improved and optimised.
Performance features
- Access to the individual VM via RDP
- Login with the kiz account
- Access to a personal home directory on a centralised kiz file service.
- Provision of basic software: Office Suite, web browser, mail client, PDF reader, SSH client
- Provision of specialised software: where possible and appropriate, employees' VMs are equipped with the same software that was installed on their PCs so that they can carry out their work.
- Additional software is installed on request, provided this is feasible in terms of cost, compatibility and licence conditions.
- The home directories are integrated into the backup.
- Use of output devices (printers) via FollowMe and any network printers available on site.

Application modalities
All ZUV employees will be gradually migrated from kiz to the BüroCloud (department by department). For this purpose, the departments must submit a list to kiz indicating which working environment the individual employees have been using to date and to which (ThinClient + VM or fully managed notebook) they are to be converted. Furthermore, a priority should be given, indicating how urgently the changeover should take place.
Fee / charge
No fees or charges are invoiced for the service.
