Backup

The central and campus-wide backup service is available to all employees and departments of the universities of Ulm, Konstanz and Tübingen. Data from departmental servers and, in exceptional cases, local PCs can be backed up or restored automatically via the network.

Central Fileserver

The central file server is available to all employees and departments of the university. Files of all kinds can be stored at a central location on a server in a so-called share. The access is via the CIFS or SMB protocol, which is suitable for all common operating systems. For authentication the kiz account is used. Shares are established exclusively for institutions or comparable organizational units.
