Faculty of Natural Sciences

Welcome to the Faculty of Natural Sciences where we conduct outstanding research in the fields of biology, chemistry, and physics. We pursue a strongly interdisciplinary approach in which we work together on solutions for global challenges such as the energy transition, climate change and the development of state-of-the-art quantum technologies. Our students are important to us: they are actively involved in forward-looking projects right from the start and receive personal support.

Bio Sciences

The Bio Sciences investigates stress responses and the resilience of biological systems, to help us understand how organisms react to environmental changes. Our findings help promote the resilience of living systems and secure resources for future generations.

Research at the Faculty of Natural Sciences

In our research fields, we are working on the major issues of the future: quanta, energy and the resilience of biological systems, and setting global standards in these areas. Our research strongly benefits from intense cooperation, international networks and a supportive environment within our university. From fundamental research to technology development, we provide a significant contribution to overcoming global challenges.

Research focus areas
